Football Carnival is an online slot game by software provider Playtech, and its’ theme brings together two of Brazil’s most favorite things: football and the carnival. The title was released just in time for the World Cup 2014 – which as you remember, took place in Brazil – so there couldn’t have been a more fitting title for a game like this. You can tell that the developers really gave it their best; the visuals are simply outstanding, boasting 3D graphics with amazing details and entertaining features. In the backdrop you can see the city of Rio de Janeiro from Corcovado Hill, so there’s a bit of a mist glazing the view. Speaking of which, one of the symbols is actually the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer which stands on that very hill.
Now as for the game’s layout, it features the typical 5 reels and 3 rows, and these come with a total of 50 paylines for you to place your stakes on. The paylines are fixed, though, so this means you will not be able to regulate them. This may not be very appealing to everyone, because stakes tend to be rather steep in this offering. The minimum bet, for example, will set you back some 50p per single spin, and the largest amount you can wager per spin is £125.
Special Features
Not quite a special feature but worth mentioning nonetheless, is that this title features stacked symbols. The higher value symbols of the football players can appear covering two positions on the reels, and this can potentially mean more winning combinations.
Wild
The Wild symbol in this offering can land in any position, anywhere on the five reels. Unlike the football players, though, it only takes up one position. The Wild is also the symbol offering the highest payouts, and with its help you can potentially end up pocketing up to a hefty 3,000 coins. In addition, since this is after all the Wild we’re talking about, it will be able to substitute for the other icons here, and in doing so will help complete winning combos. Just don’t expect it to also do this for the game’s Scatter symbol.
Freespins
The Freespins Feature is the main attraction in Football Carnival, and you will have the ability to trigger it with the help of the game’s Scatter. Like the Wild, it will be able to land pretty much anywhere on the screen, but you will require a minimum of 3 Scatters to actually activate the bonus game. As a result, you will receive a total of 10 freespins with an increasing multiplier.

You really have to love football if you want to genuinely enjoy this online slot game. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have very much to offer in terms of its features, and the betting range isn’t a very friendly one either. To top it off, the RTP is a very low which isn’t at all promising.
