Jewel in the Crown is a royalty-themed online slot game, with the crown jewels as its focal point. If you have a closer look at the game’s design, you will notice that even the main controls are shaped like jewels. The Spin button, for example, is a lovely bright emerald and the Big Bet button is a rectangular amethyst. Naturally, given the theme, the backdrop is a deep burgundy velvet drape, adding that extra layer of weight and luxury. Upon even closer inspection, you will notice the patterns of tiny little fleur-de-lis running along both sides of every reel, and if that doesn’t give you the sense of a regality– we don’t know what will.
The symbols on the reels are also mainly jewels of different colors, shapes and sizes, and the layout here is quite basic, featuring 5 reels and 3 rows. However, as you will notice, reels 1 and 5 each have an extra row, and that is why the number of available paylines here is equal to 10+3. The three extra paylines include those additional fourth rows. Stakes here, however, remain unaffected by that fact and still start off at a very agreeable minimum bet of only 10p per spin. The maximum wager amount, on the other hand, will set players back £500 per single spin.

Wild
The Wild symbol is the highest paying icon on these reels. It can also substitute for all other symbols in the game save for the Scatter. This means that it will be able to contribute to the formation of winning sequences. The only catch here is that the Wilds are active exclusively during the Freespins Feature.
Freespins
To trigger the Freespins Feature, you will have to keep a good lookout for the Scatter symbol in the shape of a Crown. You will notice that it can only land on the three middle reels 2, 3 and 4, and in order to activate the bonus round, you will need to land all three symbols at the same time. As a result, you will receive a total of 16 free spins, and as mentioned, you will get to benefit from Wild symbols throughout the duration of the feature as well.

Jewel in the Crown is more than just a decent online slot game from Barcrest, at least in our opinion. The graphics are outstanding and the setup provides a unique twist, making gameplay even more exciting. And as always, you get to play around with the RTP depending on how much you decide to stake.
