For many, Africa is known as the birthplace of mankind; we don’t know about that, but we do know that the King of Africa slot has been one we’ve been looking to try for some time now. First impressions of this vibrant and colourful game are good, and it is extremely pleasing on the eye. The sights and sounds replicate something that you would likely find out on an African Safari, adding to the atmosphere of the slot.

You’ve got the classic if a little uninspiring set up here of a 5 reel, 20-payline game, and with that comes a number of additional features. You’ll be able to pick up scatters that unlock feature rounds along with expanding wilds in these bonus rounds to add even more to your winnings.

Special Features

Wild

The wild symbol is the game’s logo, and this will sub in to make additional winning paylines. On top of that you will also see that this symbol is expandable when it comes to feature and bonus rounds, making it that little bit more valuable.

Feature

The bonus round is essentially the free spins round and to trigger this you need to get three or more of the scatter symbols to get started. By getting three of these little beauties you will be awarded 8 free spins initially. This is re-triggerable, and for every three further scatters that you pick up another 8 spins will be added for free. It’s worth noting that in each of the free spins a wild will be added to make one of each reel completely wild.

Verdict

What you’re going to find from the King of Africa slot is that the game offers a bright and vibrant scene. The safari theme is one that is tried and tested in the slots industry, though we can’t help but feel that the game does lack a little depth. The bonus games that are there are good, but they don’t quite fill the void for one reason or another. It’s hard to really put our fingers on why this game isn’t more successful, but for whatever reason, the King of Africa does tend to fall just a little short.
