There’s been much talk over the years about the Illuminati, and of course, this was enough for the prolific Netent to take the theme and create a game out of it. Based on the hidden mysteries and secrets of the Illuminati, this game takes players on an exploratory journey to discover all the wonders of such an elite group. As well as featuring a couple of avid explorers on the reels, symbols include a book with magnifying glass, an hourglass and various differently coloured rings and runes. A church choir will also hum a note every time you spin the reels.
The game integrates five reels and three rows into its gameplay alongside 20 paylines, which are able to be customised. The coin value ranges from £0.01 up to £0.50, while the bet level is able to be switched between one and five. Taking all this into account, players are able to place a maximum overall bet of £50 per spin. Several extra features are included within the game, such as wilds, scatters and a bonus round.
The cloaked man with a dagger in his hand acts as Secret Code’s wild symbol, and he’ll stand in for any other symbol on the reels to make a winning combination. The only symbols not included in this are the scatters and bonus symbols. Wilds appearing on reels two, three or four will expand to cover the entire reel when featured as part of a winning combination.
The almost Aztec-looking symbol is this game’s scatter, and when three or more of these appear anywhere on the reels, a free spins round is triggered. Clicking on one of the scatters will reveal the number of free spins you’ll be rewarded with, and during the round two or more scatter symbols will increase the multiplier by the number of scatters shown.
The key inserted into a lock is the bonus symbol and when this appears on reels three, four and five, the bonus game will be triggered. This will present you with five masked figures holding treasure boxes, and in front of them are five different keys. It’s your job to match the correct key up to the correct box, and if you do so, the statue’s mask will fall to reveal an angel, and the box will open to reveal a coin win. If you choose incorrectly, the box will give you nothing and a demon will be revealed behind the mask.
Secret Code is quite an interesting game to play, especially considering how topical its theme is. There are plenty of additional extras included in the game as well, so it remains one of those slots that doesn’t get old quickly.
